National Narayan Seva is an initiative coined by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba himself to provide food at the doorstep of the needy and poor.
Our Master asked all families to consider Him also as a part of their own family, and keep aside food for one member everyday. At the end of the month, Sevadals collect that from every household and give it at the doorstep of the needy. Our Master stressed on the fact, that the food should be given at the doorstep of the needy, and not asking them to collect food after standing in a queue. Ecah of them should be considered as a Narayana, and we should take this as a Divine opportunity to serve them food. It should be considered our Good Karma that we get such a chance.
This whole initiative is based on the dictum of our Master "Love all; Serve All;" Sri Sathya Sai Baba said that there is no greater service than providing food to the hungry, education to the illiterate and medicine to the poor and needy suffering from illness. National Narayan Seva is based on those lines only of providing food to the hungry. It is done throughout the State of West Bengal, and more than 2500 families all over the state is benefitted.
